Artist Statement
My photography is based on the idea of memory and the self. Each individual’s experience is so singular as to make it inaccessible to another. Moments are remembered and forgotten and perhaps remembered again. What shapes us is not easily communicated. A photograph is a dangerous thing because it can replace the act of remembering and telling. At the same time, in a photo we can show a fragment of what was and perhaps reveal a little of who we are.
